Characteristics Of Enduring Relationships And Seven...

As one of the most powerful couples in today’s entertainment industry, being constantly placed under the spotlight and having to deal with demanding work schedules can easily put one’s relationship under strain. Luckily, I am a current student in an Interpersonal Communications and Relationships course and can give you some insight on how to make your marriage last. In this letter, I will define and explain seven of the characteristics of enduring relationships and seven relational contradictions in addition to providing relevant examples to your situation. By the end of this letter, you should be more informed on the subject and take away some tips to make your relationship happy and long lasting. One of the fundamental steps to†¦show more content†¦Revelation is the extent to which you disclose different levels of privacy to each other. The closer your relationship, the more likely you are to self-disclose personal secrets to your partner. Though Kim lives a fairly public life as the star of her family’s reality television show, ways to increase revelation in your relationship include the following: revealing less to the public as prominent public figures – whether it be in an interview with Rolling Stone or on an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, keeping your privacy to a minimum with the public can increase revelation between your relationship since personal matters will be considered of more value. Anxiety reduction is the dependence one has on their partner to be there for them during difficult times. Whether it be watching a scary movie or going through the death of a loved one, having a partner that is dependable can reduce anxiety significantly. Since you each have a parent that has passed, being able to depend on each other for support and comfort is an example of anxiety reduction. Intimacy is the process by which a couple becomes more private and personal with each other. This can either be categorized by physical, mundane, or emotional intimacy. Ways to improve these levels of intimacy in your relationship include showing a more public display of affection or by doing unexpected things for each other such as making Kanye a personal mixtape or by writing Kim a song. My Early Mentors I ll Call Him James - 1005 Words

One of my early mentors — I’ll call him James — was a well-known trial lawyer in Peoria. I met James in January 1983, the same month that I opened my law practice. He started out by giving me research and writing projects. Before long, I was covering his court hearings and helping him prepare cases for trial. Several of James’ opponents had a nickname for him — â€Å"the gentle interrogator.† The name described him perfectly. Whenever James cross-examined a witness, he was a perfect gentleman. Because he came across as a kind, gentlemanly lawyer, most witnesses would let their guard down and reveal information that no other lawyer would be able to get from them. I never saw James get angry. Not once. He was always cool, calm, and in control. I envied James because he had qualities that I lacked. More often than not, when I questioned a witness, I would get irritated. If a witness was evasive or failed to cooperate, instead of gently leading the witness in the direction that I wanted the witness to go, I would become hostile and aggressive. My behavior would cause the witness to become defensive and more evasive. I thought about James last week when I sat through a 3-hour deposition of one of my clients. A deposition is a court-related procedure in which a witness or party to a case is questioned by the lawyers who are involved in the case. Depositions are ordinarily scheduled to take place in a lawyer’s office with a court reporter present. After the deposition, the courtShow MoreRelatedMalcolm X : An American Muslim Minister And Human Rights Activist6464 Words   |  26 Pagesindicted white America in the harshest terms for its crimes against black Americans; disparagers accused him of preaching racism and violence. English Column Writing for Teenager- MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about theEnglish Column Writingfor Teenager. Answer: On my Behalf of a Teenager Accounting Experiences I would like to share my experience and my views regarding my surrounding and others opinions regarding myself as a teenager. My concern will be here to understand the significance of others opinions about me and at the same time, I would like to judge whether their opinions are justifiable or not. Being a teenager, the first thing I have noticed that our parents and other guardians always prefer to impose their opinions upon us. It is a kind of daily habit for them to make comments on each of our activities, which would not match up to their approval level. However, I should admit the fact that without the suggestive comments and continuous guidance, it would not have been easy for me to take right decisions for my education or other aspects of life. In this context, I should contemplate one fact that most of the time we as teenagers could not properly express ourselves to respective adults and consequently most of the time they misunderstood our point of view. Several times, I have realized that the adults prefer to take the teenagers very casually and most of the times do not take concern about issues of our life. For example, I have seen that the issues I face with my friends are not a major concern for my parents as they give more priority on my education and the opinions of my teachers. In this respect, I should make account of two particular incidents that took place in my life several years ago. I can clearly remember that I was 13 years old, it was summer time, and me with my friends were having a little match near my house. I saw one of my friends have been cheating with me and instead of asking him to play the match fairly he kept doing the same. Back in home, when I started to elaborate the entire incident to my parents, I realized they have not taken too much interest in the incident. Moreover, instead of knowing that one of my friends has cheated with me, my mother asked me to forget about the incident and to concentrate upon my study. I should mention here that I was extremely disappointed with such response from my mother and I was astonished to saw that my father did not even bother to give any response regarding the incident. Thus, I believe that adults or our guardians should consider the fact that little incidents or small issues like those that the on e is mentioned above, do have a strong impact upon the mind of the teenagers like me. I believe the reason for such disappointment is that the maturity level of the teenagers used to be very low, due to which small incidents as the aforementioned one disturbs our cognitive aspects. Another incident, which I desire to mention here, is that I have always been interested in music and specifically to the hip-hop music. It has been highly unfortunate for me that my father never approved my love for music and until now, he strongly dislikes this. It was disheartening moment for me when my father scolded me for buying an Outkast CD that has the print saying Explicit and Parental advisory on it. Today, when I recollect the entire incident, not only I feel ashamed but also I think that from that day an invisible distance took a place between my father and me. However, I am fortunate enough that my father has not compromised his love for me and he will continue that throughout his life. I would like to mention here that we as teenagers do not like to hear continuously that we are wrong or our work still needs improvement. I believe most of the adults prefer to impose their opinions upon the teenagers and never bother to listen to the sides of the teenagers. What I mean to implicate here is that teenagers seek attention, love, empathy as well as appreciation. In this case, I would like to mention that encouragement from our parents or from other adults appropriately enacts the roles of love, empathy and attention on the minds of the teenagers. I have come to realize the fact that instead of encouraging the teenagers, parents or the other adults engage themselves more in pointing out the faults us as teenagers commit. On the other hand, it is also required to mention here that in the teenage phase individuals becomes empathy less towards their companions. It is probably because of the treatment they get from their peers or their guardians that they like show less comp assion for their friends. One such incident I would like to share here. It is about my experience as a mid-school student when I have been an unpopular child and lack friendship of my batch mates. I used to sit and have launch alone and whenever I used to ask my friends to consider me in their group, I only end up being mocked in front of the whole class. The fear of being mocked in front of others grew more and accompanied me until I was about to enter the high school. An Experience that Change my View I should recollect and make account of the particular incident that changed my life and vision regarding the adults. Prior to meet the youth minister of my high school I only used to think that adults have an ignorant sort of attribute towards the teenagers. The way my youth minister talked to the teenagers like me, show compassion and listened to the all-trivial details to us, it proved that at least there is someone whom I can trust as an adult and share all my problems as well as accomplishments freely. My previous experiences with varied adults who dismissed my point of view and feeling as a teenager and its impact upon my mind simultaneously removed. Final Understadning Finally, I want to conclude that we as teenager seek compassion and constant encouragement from the adults. If I in my early teenage life would have acquired such compassion and support from my parents and other guardians, I could have grown more confident and empowered about myself.
